To extend the life of your floral gift to its maximum please care for your flowers in the manner listed below...this applies whether your gift has come from Aunt Rosies Flowers or another florist.

Cut flowers Cut off stems with a sharp knife, scissors or secautiers about (2.5cm/1inch). Remove any leaves/foliage that will be below the water level. Place them in deep, clean water in a clean container prior to arranging them, Let them have a good drink for a couple of hours (overnight if possible).

Roses Follow the cut flower guide above. If roses wilt/flop, wrap in newspaper including heads, re-cut and plunge stems in aprox 2" of boiling water for aprox one minute then plunge into deep water. Leave for 2 hours. This should wake them up and bring them back to life.

Hand-Tied arrangements Follow the cut flower guide. However, if delivered in water, pierce film over sink and allow to drain before undoing ribbon. Then follow the cut flower guide (don't untie your hand-tied as you will spoil the arrangement of your flowers).

Aqua Hand-Tied arrangements Most aqua hand-tieds come in a nice presentation box because they are intended for someone that has no vase or for someone that leads a busy life style, also a great favourite for the hospital deliveries. If this is the case then all you need to do is simply add water slowly to the center of the flowers, approx. half a mug every 5 days. You should get approx. 2 weeks from an aqua hand-tied arrangement depending on the type of flowers used.

Flower arrangements Where flowers are arranged in floral foam, add a little water daily.

General Avoid putting your flowers in direct sunlight, near radiators, draughts or hot locations such as a mantle place. Always use flower preservative provided.

Caution... Some flowers and foliage may be toxic or cause skin irritations. Keep out of reach of children. Always wash your hands after handling plants. Lily stamens are known to stain permanently - avoid contact with all surfaces (you may prefer to remove stamens).

We hope you have found these tips helpful or if you know of something that we have missed and you think is of interest to other customers please feel free to tell us. We have a saying that we learn something new every day. Thank you.
